The penalties to your honour, relationship with the village and relationship to the lord who owns the village mean its just not worth it.

Speak with him to earn your reward and a shiny new achievement.I never raid villages. Simply kill everyone who does not have a banner/icon above their heads (as this indicates a friendly troop) and at the end you will find yourself in the merchant's home again. You'll find yourself back on the city streets and after a few seconds the merchant will run out, yell "It's time" or something like that, and a battle will break out. Speak with the merchant again, select the top option twice, then select continue. Speak with him briefly, snag the loot, then head back to the tavern in your starting city. At the end, a man named "Merchant's brother" will come running up to you. Travel there, select "Attack the hideout." and complete the battle. Back on the map, scroll to find that village (should be nearby) and next to it you will see the image of some rocks/a cave labelled "Kidnappers' Hideout. At this stage you should charge as the experience is worth it.Īfter the battle a bandit will tell you the location of his hideout in relation to a village. You can then choose to charge the enemy or order your troops to attack. Select this man with A and when your parties meet select the top options. Leave the city and you will notice a small group of 4, indicated by a small man walking on the map with the number 4 written in a bluish/green color. He will then ask you to attack some robbers, to which you should reply "Very well. Walk around the tavern until you see the Merchant of wherever you happen to be and speak to him with Y. Press A to travel to this city and from the city menu select "Visit the tavern". Once you have at least 6 troops scroll on the map to select your starting city. If you cannot recruit enough troops from this first village then just recruit all you can, move to the next closest village, and repeat. Press A (default) to travel to the nearest village and select "recruit", which should be the first option, to recruit your first troops. You can recruit mercenaries/special allies called companions from cities but these are rather expensive and castles do not allow recruitment. These will appear smaller in size than the city you find yourself at and will not have the word "Castle" next to them.

With the left stick move around the map to select the closet village. You'll need at least 6 troops in order to advance.

Your first task will be to recruit 5 troops, but for some reason returning with only 5 troops doesn't work. Accept this mission and press B (default) to leave his home, then scroll down and select "Leave" to leave the city. He will take you back to his home and, after a brief conversation, offer you a job rescuing his brother from some bandits.

A second man will run up to you named "Merchant of BLANK" with the BLANK being whatever city you are in. You'll be out on the street and will be attacked by a single enemy which, as long as you did the tutorial, should be dispatched without trouble. Which one depends upon your starting destination but all will play out more or less the same.

I would suggest going through the tutorial first, even for those who are veterans of the PC version, just to get comfortable with the controls.Īfter creating your character and choosing your starting destination you will find yourself in one of the major cities of the game. For those who choose to start the story/sandbox mode over online, this will likely be your first achievement.
